Deaf Commissioning Service Location Changed
The location for the special commissioning service that will kick off the weeklong effort to share the Good News of Jesus Christ with deaf people in communities across the state has been changed. It will be held in “The Gathering” at Sandia Baptist Church in Albuquerque at 10:30 on Sunday, April 13.
This year’s annual New Mexico Baptist Deaf Revival will begin on Saturday, April 12, when members of the New Mexico Baptist Hands on Mission Team meet for training and orientation at the Baptist Building in Albuquerque, according to Joyce and Olen Smith, the Baptist Convention of New Mexico’s consultants/church planters/strategists with the deaf. The following morning, they will participate in a special commissioning service in The Gathering, Sandia’s fellowship hall; and after lunch, everyone will break into teams that will attempt to reach the approximately 5,000 deaf people in the state for Christ.
Keeping New Mexican Baptists informed since 1912
The Information Services team facilitates communications throughout the convention and among its partner churches, associations and the public.
