Donating to Hurricane Harvey/Irma Relief
Option 1: Local Church Offering
Give through your local church offering. Designate your after-the-tithe gift to go to “Hurricane Harvey Relief” or “Hurricane Irma Relief.” Your church should forward your gift to the Baptist Convention of New Mexico.
Option 2: Text to Give
Text BCNM HARVEY or BCNM IRMA (all caps with space) to 73256. Then, follow the directions in the link that is received in the reply text. Once complete, you will receive a confirmation of your gift.
Option 3: Give Online
Click here to visit the BCNM’s giving page. Select the “Hurricane Harvey Relief” or “Hurricane Irma Relief” fund from the dropdown box and follow the prompts to complete your contribution.
Option 4: Mail a Check
Mail a hurricane relief check directly to the BCNM office in Albuquerque with a note designating it to “Hurricane Harvey Relief” or “Hurricane Irma Relief.” Mail it to: The Baptist Convention of New Mexico, P.O. Box 94485, Albuquerque, NM, 87199.
Will my donation be kept in New Mexico?
No. All money designated to Hurricane Relief will go to the conventions surrounding the impacted areas to offer relief right away. The BCNM will forward donations every week.
Will my donation be used to deploy New Mexico Baptist Disaster Relief teams to impacted areas?
No. NMBDR is funded through the generous gifts of churches and individuals to the Cooperative Program and to the Mission New Mexico State Missions Offering.

Volunteering for Hurricane Harvey/Irma Relief
Can I serve as a Disaster Relief volunteer for Hurricane Harvey/Irma Relief?
Yes. But, NMBDR volunteers must undergo basic training, pass a background check, and receive their badge to serve on a deployment.
It is important to attend a Disaster Relief training if you want to deploy with New Mexico Baptist Disaster Relief. There are reasons for you to attend training.
First, these short, informative trainings will quickly prepare you with information you will need on a disaster site. This information allows you to be effective when working with the local agencies coordinating the relief efforts.
Second, following the training, you will complete the steps necessary to receive your New Mexico Baptist Disaster Relief (SBC) badge. This badge identifies you to local officials such as SBC Disaster Relief leaders, FEMA, and other emergency management personnel as a trained, vetted volunteer with New Mexico Baptist Disaster Relief.
