ALERT – NMBDR NEW MEXICO MISSION OF MERCY – ALERT

New Mexico Baptist Disaster Relief (NMBDR) is once again assisting New Mexico Mission of Mercy (MOM) during their 2016 free dental clinic.  This year’s deployment will be April 7-10 at the Santa Fe Convention Center, 201 W Marcy Ave in Santa Fe (click here for a map), but we may finish up on the 9th. NMBDR has assisted with previous MOM dental clinics in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Farmington, and Rio Rancho.
We need volunteers for the following:
CHILD ESCORTS – you will greet and register children as they enter the registration area for MOM.  You will then escort to and from locations as needed.  No child will be asked to move around without an escort.  Any of our DR volunteers can be an escort if you can walk!

CHILD CARE WORKERS – you will be caring for children of patients, children of volunteers, or children who have had dental work.

PATIENT FOOD – you will be preparing coffee/water to serve to patients waiting in line for dental care and possibly be distributing snacks. We are not cooking food this year for all of the volunteers.

Line Escort (CHAPLAINS) – you will be working the patient line – keeping things calm, handing out blankets, etc.
Overnight Ministry/Security – checking on people who are waiting in line overnight, distributing critical items such as blankets and water.
Please let me know which type of job you would prefer to be assigned to.  But be prepared to change jobs, if necessary.  Remember, we are like vapor in our flexibility as DR volunteers!
We need DR volunteers to serve.  Please let us know which dates/times if you can serve.  If you live locally, you can work in shifts.  If you are traveling to Santa Fe (and we are paying for your travel), please be prepared to work full days.

If you are available to serve, please also register on-line with NMMOM by no later than March 26th so you will have a name tag and t-shirt, etc.  If you need help in doing the on-line registration, please let me know.  (Hint:  you will eventually get to a question which has a drop-down box with NMBDR as an option.)  Even if the NMMOM registration site becomes closed, you can still serve.  Just be sure to let me know of your availability.

This will be an active deployment.  You will be provided for.  More information will come later.
We are also requesting donations of clean blankets (new or gently used) for patients waiting in line.
We look forward to serving with you as we minister in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.  If you have any questions, please contact us at [email protected]
